History
The Episcopal Church in Summerlin, Grace in the Desert, was conceived in the living room of one of its first five families and held its first public service at a YMCA on September 10, 1989. Over its first 20 years, the congregation has moved to larger and larger temporary spaces. It grew from 20 communicants, to 70 when services were moved to a preschool space. In the fall of 2003, 115 communicants moved into permanent quarters located on 4.5 acres of property adjacent to the Village Center Park (see Map for location). Today Grace in the Desert is flourishing with more than 250 families.
