The Finance Ministry consists of several elements at Grace in the Desert. The Vestry and its Finance Committee
take the leadership roll, approving budgets and expenditures, signing contracts and approving projects.
The Finance Committee prepares budgets, makes recommendations to the vestry and reviews all financial requests
and reports.
Stewardship
is a year-round concern of the Vestry and Finance Committee.

The Treasurer prepares financial reports, reimburses groups and members, and pays the bills in a timely fashion.

The Finance Committee meets each month before the vestry meeting and reviews the Treasurer’s reports for
the past month. This saves the Vestry a lot of time. Both the Ministry chair and the Treasurer are available
at Vestry meetings to answer questions.

The Vestry has charged the Ministry with the responsibility of creating the next year’s budget and tracking
the current budget. The Priest in Charge, the Senior Warden, and the Treasurer attend the Finance Committee
meetings.
