Outreach Ministry

Collects and distributes donations for outreach in the community. The following activities presently comprise the work of this Ministry.
Narthex Change Jar - Proceeds collected weekly are turned into gift cards and distributed by the Priest in Charge to help people in our parish with food, gas and other necessities.
Christ Church Food Pantry - Food donations from parishioners is collected weekly and delivered to Christ Church. The bread ministry is part of this ministry
Thanksgiving Baskets - Annually Grace in the Desert prepares food baskets for those in need. Contact Denise Merrick to volunteer.
St. Jude’s Christmas Tree - St. Jude’s recipients create a Christmas wish list and it is hung on a tree in the lobby for parishioners to full a small dream for young people in need.

Family Promise - Grace hosts families four times each year for this wonderful program. Tents are put up to comfortably "house" our guests. We serve dinner and breakfast for guests and visitors from our Parish the entire week. Please join us during our next week, which begins 6 February 2011.
Ronald McDonald Food Drives - Food is collected twice a year from local grocery stores. The McDonald House takes what they need and distributes the remainder equally between organizations that help others.

School Supplies - Gwen Baccus is a local teacher and works with kids from meager means. If you know of anyone who would like to help, the following is her list of what she needs:

- glue sticks,
- dry erase markers,
- index cards,
- small white boards to use with the dry erase markers,
- copy paper (white and colored),
- pencils with erasers,
- washable markers.

In addition, small adult size shirts to use as paint smocks; used ones are fine.
